, co-author of “Let Me Sign,” the hit song from the Twilight soundtrack (sung by Robert Pattinson) recently gave this Twilight Examiner an exclusive interview.

First, I asked Bobby about how he got his start in music. He said that he “moved to London and started playing around in as many places as possible.” When in London, he “would sometimes play five shows a week” to get his bearings there. Says Bobby, “I just wanted to drop myself in there and learn about playing live and seeing how songs worked.”

Apparently, it was a success. Bobby’s career has been sky-rocketing for years, now, and he has recently decided to start touring in the U.S.A. For more on this, see here.

I asked who his biggest influences were. He said that he “has a lot.” “Brought up with all the old blues guys like Mississippi John Hurt and Robert Johnson and a lot of Jazz like Jack Teagarden and Louis Armstrong,” Bobby loves “the Beatles, Bob Dylan,” and other greats from the 1960’s. Of all his favorites, though, when asked if he could play with anyone, dead or alive, whom he would choose, he said, “today, Gram Parsons.”

Bobby decided to tour in the United States because “the opportunity arose.” “I got offered some gigs and then it seemed to grow,” he explained. “I’m quite excited about it.” His biggest dream, he says, is “to play and write music professionally.” Simply put, Bobby, and it appears you are approaching that dream quite nicely. He added, “going on tour would be great too,” another feat which he is quite nicely accomplishing.

I asked Bobby how Robert Pattinson ended up singing “Let me Sign,” leading to its inclusion on the Twilight film and soundtrack. Bobby replied, “me and Marcus Foster wrote it, and [Rob] took it away and recorded it.” The rest, as they say, is history.

To all of his supporters and friends along the road and those to come, Bobby added a “thank you for listening and thank you for coming to the shows!”

Grateful, poignant, succinct, (did I mention handsome?) and talented, ’s words go to show that he is a class act.
