Drew Barrymore to direct Eclipse?
Here’s some ‘Twilight’-related buzz to sink your teeth into.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Drew Barrymore is on the short list of directors being considered for the recently-announced third Twilight movie, Eclipse.
The 34-year-old actress recently wrapped up production on her big-screen directorial debut, Whip It!, starring Juno’s Ellen Page. If chosen to helm Eclipse, she would follow in the footsteps of Catherine Hardwicke, who lensed Twilight, and Chris Weitz, who’s been enlisted to direct Twilight sequel New Moon, due to begin production next month.
Sounds like Barrymore might have her hands pretty full.
Rob Pattinson Sizzles at Twilight’s Tokyo Premiere
On Feb. 22, he was in Los Angeles, presenting at the 2009 Academy Awards.
After wrapping up Twilight’s Tokyo press junket, Rob reportedly relaxed by doing karaoke at a local bar with Australian actor Hugh Jackman. Hugh, 40, had hosted the 2009 Oscars and was in Japan to promote his new film, Australia, along with co-star Nicole Kidman.
Pattinson, Stewart and Taylor will soon jet back to Vancouver, where they will begin filming New Moon, the sequel to Twilight. In between shooting, Rob will take some time out to promote his indie flick, Little Ashes, which hits theaters in May. robert pattinson kristen stewart taylor lautner tokyo
After New Moon wraps, Pattinson will start shooting its sequel, Eclipse, and has hinted that Breaking Dawn (the fourth and last installment of the Twilight book series) will soon be in the works.
All the pre- and post-production work on the Twi franchise (in addition to the actual shooting) should keep Rob busy until at least 2010. “I’m gonna be Twilighted out by the end of the year,” he says. What an understatement.
Rob, who skyrocketed to international superstardom thanks to Twi’s incredible box office success, says he realizes how lucky he has been recently. “I think I am [lucky],” he says.
Rob recounts: “I remember when I was younger I used to write in my diary: I want my luck to be spread out. Never give me anything too lucky all at once. I’ll take a little luck now and then, but spread it out over 70 years. Now that all of this is happening, I’m sure the rest of my life will be ruined.” (laughs) Given Rob’s talent and likeability, we’re sure he’ll stay lucky for a long time to come.
New Moon hits theaters in November 2009, while Eclipse rolls out in June 2010.

Robert Pattinson & Hugh Jackman Karaoke in Tokyo
Robert Pattinson was a first-time Oscar presenter on Sunday. Hugh Jackman was a first-time host.
So, how’d the two first-timers celebrate?
Maybe with a little karaoke.
I just got word that Pattinson and Jackman engaged in some karaoke crooning together this week at a bar in Tokyo.
The two have been in Japan on business. Pattison touched down on Tuesday to promote Twilight while Jackman and Nicole Kidman attended last night’s premiere of Australia.
Says a source, “They went after doing press for their films.”
Details are still trickling in, but I’m told Australia director Baz Luhrmann joined them, too.

Twilight Casting News
While plenty of question marks still remain about the cast of the upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon, MTV.com reports that Canadian actor Bronson Pelletier is definitely signing up for the second installment of the vampire saga.
Carrier Talent Management, which reps Pelletier, posted a message on its Web site earlier today reading, “Congratulations to Bronson who scores a lead role in the highly anticipated Twilight feature film sequel New Moon. It’s rumored he will be co-starring with Dakota Fanning.”
Though the message has since been removed, a source confirms that Pelletier has been added to the cast.
Pelletier is known for his work on the television series Renegadepress and Dinosapien.
It’s uncertain what role Pelletier has been tapped for. However, given his Native American background—his heritage derives from the Plains Cree tribe of the Askinootow First Nations—it’s a strong possibility that he’ll be playing one of the werewolves of the Quileute tribe.

Little Ashes will show at the Belfast FF
Little Ashes is listed to premiere in Ireland at the Belfast FF on Thursday 26 March @ 7.30PM location Movie House , Dublin Road.
Set across a timeframe that spans the roots of fascism to the beginning of General Franco’s dictatorship, we’re whisked away to Madrid in 1922, a city wavering on the edge of change as traditional values are challenged by the dangerous new influences of jazz, Freud and the avant-garde.
Salvador Dalí (Robert Pattinson) arrives at university at the age of 18 years old, determined to become a great artist. His bizarre blend of shyness and rampant exhibitionism attracts the attention of two of the university’s social elite, Federico García Lorca and Luis Buñuel.
Salvador is absorbed into their decadent group and for a time he, Luis and Federico become a formidable trio, the most ultra-modern group in Madrid. However, as time passes, Salvador feels an increasingly strong pull toward the charismatic Federico; who is oblivious to the attention he is getting from his beautiful writer friend, Magdalena. Finally, in the face of his friends’ preoccupations and Federico’s growing renown as a poet , Luis sets off for Paris in search of his own artistic success.
Paul Morrison’s latest feature since 2003’s Wondrous Oblivion, provides us with a fascinating account of three of the leading artists of their time and the relationships with each other, the shots of the picturesque landscapes of Spain alone makes Little Ashes an unmissable spectacle.
